Crash Bandicoot's On The Run Mobile Game To Shut Down Forever in 2023!

Time Running Out for Crash Bandicoot: On The Run, Mobile Game to Shut Down in 2023

Fans of the beloved Crash Bandicoot franchise were excited when On The Run was released on mobile devices in March 2021. The endless runner game, developed by King and published by Activision Blizzard, seemed like the perfect fit for the wacky marsupial and his linear levels. However, it has recently been announced that support for the game will end on February 16, 2023, and after that date, On The Run will be unplayable.
It has meant so much to bring your favorite Crash characters to life and we've sincerely loved making this game. Thank you for spending your time with us and we hope you will join us in one of our many other games.
Stated King in their announcement.

Gamers only have until today to make in-app purchases for On The Run, as that feature will be disabled after today. Any in-game currency or purple crystals players have will need to be spent by the time the game shuts down next year. It's a good idea to use up any remaining crystals now, as they will be gone forever once the game shuts down.
On The Run had a strong start, with 8 million downloads in its first day and $700,000 generated within its first week. Spyro, another popular video game character, was even added to the game shortly after its release. However, support for the game has been lacking in recent months. There have been no updates or announcements made since February 2021, and many features listed as "coming soon" in the app remain unchanged.
It's a little surprising that King and Activision Blizzard didn't continue to support On The Run, especially considering its successful launch. The game received mixed reviews upon release, but it's clear that it had a dedicated fan base. It's unfortunate that those fans won't be able to continue enjoying the game past next year.

Crash Bandicoot is a beloved video game franchise that has been around since the 1990s. Its platforming gameplay and quirky characters have made it a fan favorite for decades. While it's always sad to see a game shut down, it's not uncommon for mobile games to have a limited lifespan. Hopefully, fans of Crash Bandicoot will be able to find other ways to enjoy the franchise in the future.
In the meantime, it's important to make the most of the remaining time with On The Run. The game may not be around forever, but the memories made with Crash and his friends will last a lifetime. So grab your phone and get running with Crash Bandicoot: On The Run before it's too late!
