Diablo Immortal update brings new content, increased rewards for players

Blizzard's hit mobile ARPG, Diablo Immortal, is set to expand with the introduction of its new Terror's Tide update. The update will introduce the new zone of Stormpoint, a "salt-scrubbed prison island" that houses Sanctuary's "worst of the worst."

Players will need to be level 60, reach Hell Difficulty III, and complete the Starsign quest to adventure to the new zone. In order to save Stormpoint from Diablo's Cult of Terror, players must battle against the minions who have learned that a large shard of the Worldstone is being kept there and have put the island under siege.

But don't worry if you're a new or returning player - Blizzard is making it easier than ever to catch up with the rest of the community. Players whose Paragon level is below their server's Paragon level will see greatly increased XP gains, up to 800%. The drop rate for Legendary and Set items will also be increased by 250% for those players who are well below the server Paragon level.

In addition to the new story content, the update will introduce three new Paragon trees, as well as changes to the Helliquary system. There will be five new bosses for players to challenge, and Helliquary Raids will now be soloable. Three new Hell difficulties have also been added.

The update will also bring in a holiday-themed event called Brumaltine, where players can complete daily tasks for themed rewards. A recruit-a-friend system, new Legendary gems, a limited-time gacha-style cosmetic shop called the Phantom Market, and more will also be introduced.

Despite some criticisms about its monetization, Diablo Immortal has reportedly done well for Blizzard, particularly in the Chinese market. The game has ranked among the top 10 grossing mobile games in China since its launch in July.
