Fully Upgrading A Diablo Immortal Character May Cost up to $110,000

According to a recent report, maxing out a character in this free-to-play mobile game could cost you up to $110,000! That's right--if you want to have the best gear and progress quickly in the game, you'll need to spend some major bucks. This is sure to anger many fans of the series, who were already unhappy with Blizzard's decision to make a mobile-only Diablo game.

What is Diablo Immortal?

For those unsure, Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play mobile game for fans of the Diablo series. It’s a multiplayer online action role-playing game that is designed primarily for mobile devices. It takes place in between the events that happen in Diablo 2 and 3. It’s been released recently on June 2nd 2022, and people have already discovered a bit of a problem…

How Can You Rack Up This Amount of Money?

There are a few reasons why maxing out a character in Diablo Immortal could cost so much money.

Platinum

Like most games, you're going to have an in-game currency. The currency for Diablo Immortal is called "Platinum," which can be used to buy new gear and cosmetics. However, you can only buy Platinum with real-world money, making it inaccessible for some. This means that if you want to get the best gear in the game, you'll need to spend some serious cash.

The stash system

The second way you can spend some hard-earned cash is from the game’s "stash" system. This allows players to store extra gear and items by upgrading their stash storage. However, the stash is limited in size, so you'll need to purchase additional space if you want to keep all of your gear. This can quickly add up, especially if you're stockpiling gear for multiple characters!

The gem system

The third and final way it’s easy to spend some money in this game is through the "gem" system. This allows players to socket gems into their gear to improve its stats. However, these gems are also available for purchase with real-world money. So, if you want to fully optimise your gear, you'll need to spend your hard-earned real-world money.

So, it’s been found after a recent analysis that fully upgrading your character in Diablo Immortal would cost up to $110,000 in gems.

Strict loot box laws have seen this game banned in Belgium and The Netherlands. What do you think of this? Will you be playing Diablo Immortal?
