Xbox showcased a slew of upcoming games during their recent Xbox Games Showcase Extended. Here are some of the highlights:
- Playground Games gave us a quick insight into its upcoming Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC.
- Gameplay from smaller titles including Ara: History Untold
- GSC Game World shared the opening for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 plus a truly insightful and moving developer diary showcase from a developer explaining what it has been like to work on a game amid the current war in Ukraine.
- Confirmation of popular PC game, Valheim, coming to Xbox.
Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC
The developer behind the upcoming Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC, Playground Games, gave an exciting insight into what gamers can expect from this launch, set to arrive next month! Players can expect player-created hot wheels events alongside, what the developers described as “the most extreme tracks yet in Forza”. This is certainly plenty to look forward to over the next month!
Valheim is coming to Xbox
The first announcement of the showcase was the exciting news that Valheim will soon be available on Xbox. Making this the first time the game has been ventured outside of the PC platform. Set for release on Xbox One and Series in Spring 2023.
STALKER 2 team shared a moving insight into life in Ukraine right now
The current situation in Ukraine has amassed global attention, the devastation we are witnessing as a result of the conflict there is hard to put into words. The STALKER 2 studio, therefore decided to share an impactful insight into what life and work has been like for the studio team located at GSC Game World’s Kiev office. Members of the team have been documenting their experiences, creating a developer diary which the company chose to close their showcase with during the Xbox Games Showcase extended.
Throughout the video, you can see the circumstances in which the developers have found themselves working. Continuing their daily tasks amid the threat of bombings and the restrictions of cramped working spaces, in order to keep safe.
